sooooooo, as a result of all of this I now find myself on a fundraising mission with a target of £5400. All of the money raised goes to the Project Trust to pay for volunteers flights, insurance, support, selection, training, debriefing, accommodation and pocket money throughout the 12 months, it's a huge challenge - but a crucial one, not only in allowing the charity to operate but also in order to test volunteers commitment!
I'm ready anyway! And have the utmost faith that fundraising-fun is coming my way! More than can be said for my parents, who just keep exclaiming "that is A LOT of money!!" hahah (To which I reply "You just got to have faith parents o' mine")
Either way my next few weeks are going to spent writing letter after letter to trusts in the hope that a few of them will support me! As well as that I'm trying to get in contact with my local clubs and businesses and after that will be looking into some events!
I've also just set up my Virgin Money Giving account for keeping track of things and getting donations from friends and family! If you want to have a look, or even donate (which I would be super super grateful for) you can do so here: http://uk.virginmoneygiving.com/bethinUganda
I'm so grateful to have this opportunity and just can not wait to get started now!
wooo £5400... here we go!
